About Me
What can I say? I'm an Aussie working in Pommy Land and I celebrate the anniversary of my arrival in the UK on Australia Day believe it or not!
I was apprehensive about travelling at first but now I can't get enough of it...quite frankly, I'm addicted. But rather than just see/do Western Europe like most of my friends who've been backpacking, I am more interested in places a bit further afield, like Scandinavia and the Middle East, which I did last year, and Eastern Europe, which I'm still working on.
In fact my favourite feeling is when I tell my mates I'm going to, for example, Iceland, and they laugh and say 'Why would you want to go there?!' Then of course a year or so later when they end up backpacking all I hear is 'I really want to go to Iceland...I hear it's fantastic'...really, now I wonder who told you that!
My pipe dream is to return home via Africa and South America on a 55 week overland trek, rather than via South East Asia...but that is still a few years, and even more pounds sterling, away! |
