4th May
I was awake early as usual, it really annoys me that i don't have to get up for anything but still I'm wide awake by 7am sometimes even earlier!!
The weather had been terrible all night again. The inside of our shack was wet and the thunder and wind from the ongoing storm had kept me awake most the night. Still i was excited as at 2pm we could check in for 22hrs of luxury!!!
We packed our bags and waited in the common area until 1.15pm when we walked to the bus stop. It was still pouring hard and Dan and i looked a sight in our backpacks and poncho's dripping wet!! Luckily a taxi (van with two benches in the back) was just leaving as we got there so we jumped on.
We arrived at the amari just before 2pm. We checked and was told that our room would be another 30 mins so we went to the shop to stock up on supplies!! Our priority was tea and coffee!! This may sound odd but having a kettle in the hotel room was one of the highlights as we miss being able to make a nice cuppa whenever you want one!
Finally we got the key...we weren't disappointed, the only thing that could have been better was the weather....but i guess you cant have it all!
We spent most of the day in the room, it was lovely to be able to soak in a nice bubble bath with a cuppa. I also done some much needed washing and we watched a few films whilst enjoying the free chocolates and fruit bowl.
In the evening we went out for dinner (the hotel was just too expensive!!), it also gave us the opportunity to look for a suitable place for the following day.
5th May
Dan's birthday!!
It was so nice to have a decent nights sleep, the bed was so comfortable and the sheets were really soft, for once i could have slept for hours!! I wanted to get up though to make the most of the buffet breakfast, the pool and the gym before check out at 12pm.
Breakfast was fit for a king!! Dan and i had almost everything available...it was delicious, and we certainly wouldn't need to eat lunch!! Afterward we packed some bits away before heading to the gym and then going for a swim. It had finally stopped raining so although it was cloudy we were still able to enjoy the pool.
We had a shower and checked out, to our surprise the hotel had noticed it was Dans birthday from his passport and had a cake specially made!! We were really pleased....even more so when we looked inside to find chocolate cake!!
