27th may
We checked into the guest house and got a few hours sleep. The guest house owner knocked on our door at 11.30am to see if we wanted to do the visa run that day, so we got ready and set off.
Once at the port we got on a small boat and after30Min's we arrived in Burma. The cyclone had not affected this area but the people here were very poor. We were asked if we wanted to look around, which to be honest i didn't really want to, i was tired and would rather visit Burma another time when we could stay for longer. We went along anyway as we thought we could do with a cold drink.
We wandered round for about 10Min's, people were trying to get us to buy cigarettes and alchohol..."very cheap, very cheap" they kept saying!! Unfortunately for them we weren't interested in them cheap or not!!
We got back to the boat, Dan asked me if i had some money we could give the boy who showed us round, i only had 5 baht the rest of the money was more than we wanted to give. So Dan gave the boy the 5 baht and said sorry we don't have any other change, much to Dans embarrassment the boy gave him the money back!!
We got back to the Thai port and waited for the lady to pick us up, Finlay after an hour she arrived.
After some lunch we made our way to the local hot springs which were just a couple of km up the road. Better still the springs were free!!
We spent a good hour and half there, the springs were really hot much like the ones in kanchanaburi.
That evening we found the night market and tried lots of different cheap food, bbq squid on sticks, corn on the cob and spring rolls, but best of all mango and sticky rice with coconut sauce!! I love it, Dan will tell you i drive him mad as I'm always on the look out for it!!
