10th December
Today was spent sorting the van out again, we started by taking her into the mechanic ready for the safety inspection but then found out it wasn’t possible for they guy to do it as the van was registered in Queensland and we are currently New South Wales. The owner of the shop sent us to another company who could do the check for us so we found the place then left the van there whilst we went into the centre of Bondi.
We wasted a good few hours in town , in the mean time we had a phone call from an English guy that had seen the van in the mechanics, he offered us $2500 for it but we told him we had some Germans looking at it in the afternoon and would ring him later.
Dan and I walked back to the garage and was told the van needed $1000 worth of repairs, some of the things they said we had paid to be repaired when we first bought the van, personally we thought they were just trying to make a buck or two or at least trying to over charge.
Back at the hostel Dan and I decided that we would leave the van as it was and sell it as seen, I also got a load of posters made up and put some up in our hostel as well as some others in Bondi beach. We saw the German couple back at the hostel but they had already bought a car, so I gave the English bloke a call back but just got the answer phone.
That afternoon Brian the guy we met on the ULURU tour arrived in Bondi, so Sarah spent some time with him whilst we were trying to get the van sorted.
That evening I put the van on gum tree a online site for selling vehicles, almost immediately I had a reply from two French girls asking if they could see the van. After an email back to them with my phone number they called and arranged a viewing the following afternoon. Things were looking up!!!
