30 August 2006 - Reading Festival

The more-fun way of earning money for that trip abroad!

It may not be the most exotic location but its about the most exciting thing I've done so far this year...

Me and a few friends managed to get paid stewarding jobs at reading festival this year which meant 12 hour shifts either on one of the gates or up a fire tower. I was lucky enough to be put on a gate, I don't think I would have been all that good climbing a ladder!

Although we missed most of the bands (and had it rubbed in our faces when we could hear feeder and the kaiser chiefs but weren't able to see them) we got to see the headliners and spend our days talking to drunk and happy festival-goers.

All in all, a decent weekend, I would recommend doing this if you need cash quickly and not if all you want a free festival ticket (as you miss most of it anyway!!)

Next time I write I'll be in Ecuador!
