24 July 2008 - (b) Back to KL

19th July

Dan and I were flying back to KK today, the flight wasn’t until 15.45 so we were able to have a leisurely morning. We met up with john and Rachel who were also flying today, although they were going to the Philippines. We had a lovely breakfast and arranged to meet up with them when they get to Australia in august, we will miss there company so it will be good to see them again.

We checked out and still had a few hours before catching the bus so we went on the net and admired our pictures we took whilst diving!! We were feeling quite sad to be leaving Borneo as we have had such a great time here but it was exciting to know we were going to Singapore in the next day or so.

By 6.30pm we had arrived in KL, the airport is an hour south of the city so we had thought we’d get a bus to the city of Melaka as it would be nearer to Singapore….less backtracking. As it happens you have to go back to KL just to get the bus to Melaka, so in the end we decided we would just stay in KL tonight.

After a budget review (I’m very sad, I do the budget review at least a few times a day, I like to have that one thing to keep me feeling busy at some point in the day!!) we decided that it would be cheaper to stay in KL for a few more days, then go to Singapore for 3 days, do and see everything we want to in that amount of time. So we went back to the oasis hostel and booked ourselves in for 3 nights. (The saving per night is huge in comparison to Singapore, in KL we pay 5GBP between us and Singapore is 18GBP which is pretty much our current daily budget!!)

Over the past few months we have been careful with our money, by doing this we have saved quite a lot so that when we get to Singapore we can do some of the attractions. We also want to buy an eee pc, which is a 10inch lap top as so many places have free wi-fi. , so if we have any left over money (highly unlikely!!!) it can go toward the pc!!
