We headed off to ha long bay, it took about 4hrs to get there and was taken to our boat in which we would be spending the rest of the day and night on. Unfortunately the weather was pretty bad and as a result so was the viability.
Ha long bay consists of thousands of limestone rocks jutting out of the sea. It was beautiful but on a clear day it would have been even better.
We had 30mins kayaking around the limestone rocks. This was enjoyable more so due to the eagles circling us waiting to dive for fish. We must have seen at least 8 over the course of the day.
The next day we were taken to cat ba island. We went on a trek up the mountain, the forests were humid and as a result the floor was wet and very slippery. Going up was ok but coming down was quite hard work. I fell over a number of times and was covered in mud!!
We spent the night on the island and headed back to the boat first thing in the morning. Coming off the boat was Ben Paul and Kate. We had a quick catch up and said goodbye as Kate and Paul are heading off to china so we wont be bumping into them again.
We got back to the Hotel at 4.30pm, just enough time to grab a sandwich before starting our 20hr bus trip to Laos.
