18 May 2008 - Another day waiting

16th May

We had a bit of a lie in today as there was no point getting up early as we had to wait until 6.30pm when our bus was ready to leave. We checked out at 11am and headed to a little cafe that we had discovered a few days before.

We drew out our breakfast as long as we could, then headed back down the road for a walk. Chiang Mai has so many book stores so we stopped by one to see what they had. I had finished my book so i needed a new one. To my delight i found the sequel to a book i had read earlier in the week.

Armed with a book each we found a spot in the square opposite our guest house and read for an hour or so. Of course the rains came as they have been the previous 4 days so we headed to a bar/restaurant that had a pool table.

The rest of the day was spent on the internet and getting some supper before getting on the bus.

I had just been telling a friend on line that although the bus journey was 12hrs it wouldn't be a bad one as the roads are quite good here. Typical that we got a driver who was erratic!! ironically as travelers we don't travel well!!

Again i thought i was going to be sick as the bus driver seemed to be throwing the bus around! Luckily there was some spare seats on the lower level of the bus so we moved down there. Thankfully it didn't seem to be as bad down there, so i manged to recovery without being sick!!

We arrived back in bangkok by 6am, we went off and found a guest house we had already decided on before we had left.
