12th may
I woke up quite early as usual and couldn't get back to sleep so i decided to have a wonder whilst Dan was sleeping. I checked out a few more hostels to see if there was anything better but it seemed we had made a good choice.
On my walk i found a local food market and some other nice places we could eat. After 1hr 30Min's i decided it was time to get Dan out of bed!!
Dan was feeling miserable, he had a sore throat and a cough. After breakfast we check out some of the tour agencies. We had considered doing a trek whilst in Chiang Mai, but after speaking to some people, Dan not feeling 100% and the increasing rainfall we decided to give it a miss.
It started to rain heavily in the afternoon so we went back to the guest house and bought some new books to get stuck into.
That evening we went down to the night bazaar. There are hundreds of stalls all lining the street. We walked through quickly most of the time as the stall owners all urge you to look at their goods and say "you buy..i make good price..cheap cheap!!" However they have some really talented people who draw and paint, the pictures truly are amazing, Dan happily watched for quite some time before i dragged him away!!

Today we planned to do some washing!! It was raining again so it seemed a good way to spend a few hrs. The day before we were lucky enough to spot a laundrette!! We had decided to treat ourselves, it was so nice not to have to scrub our clothes clean with the brush!!
We had a walk in the afternoon and i booked myself up to go on a cooking course. Dan had considered doing some rock climbing but decided to wait until we get to krabi.
We had also wanted to visit a orchid and butterfly farm and a night safari we had heard about. When we inquired how much it would cost to get there it was a whole days budget and that was without the entrance fee. Again we decided we would give it a miss, we would rather save our money to enjoy diving when we get to the islands.
The evening we just had a few games of pool before heading back to the room to enjoy our books.

Dan and i got up together as i was being pick up for the cooking course at 9am, so we had breakfast together first. Dan was still feeling under the weather so he planned to have another quite day.
The cooking course was good fun and i felt thoroughly full by the end of the day!! I made 5 different dishes and it was a struggle to finish then especially without Dans help!! It was strange not having Dan with me as we had been together everyday for almost 3 months now!!

We had a lie in and decided to skip breakfast and have lunch instead!! Before we left the guest house we booked places for the bus to bangkok. we decided it was time to leave and explore somewhere else.
Again we spent our day wondering round the city and in the afternoon when it rained read our book and went on the internet. I was lucky enough to catch Fran, so was able to speak to her and Millie using msn!! Its great to catch up with friends and family as although we are having a great time it doesn't stop me missing people!!
