1 April 2006 - First entry..

Well here it is, my first ever blog. 1st April...2 months and 6 days to go, thats both a terrifying and exciting thought.

Barranquilla, Colombia my destination, 7th of June the date. As the days get shorter, the shifts at Tesco longer and the weather colder, it becomes more and more inviting!

According to their statisitics, I will have scanned 378,000 items at Tescos between now and the day I leave but I know it will be worth every single one!

This trip takes me through Colombia, Ecuador Peru, Bolivia (quickly!) and then flying down to Santiago in Chile for the flight back home. I am so glad to be going, I have always wanted to go to South America and now I really am!

I think il post here pretty regulary to keep family and friends updated on my progress, if not just for myself!

So if anybody else is reading this then do drop me a line - I always like meeting new people and sharing stories, travel information and interests.

A planning session with fellow traveller Guy later this week and first round of jabs on monday is all a step in the right direction...
