9 January 2009 - (6) Our last few days in oz

19th December

So much for the early start, by the time we left the hostel it was lunch time, it didn’t really matter though as party’s left the bridge for the climb every 10mins.

We found the place and went in to see what the climb was all about, problem was it was $200 each, we decided we would all give our honest opinion on it and not just what we thought everyone else wanted to do! It turned out that none of us were really that fussed about doing it we just felt we should do it as everyone else did, but if we had turned up to find it fully booked we wouldn’t have been bothered.

Instead we walked over the bridge and wandered through the area called the rocks which had lots of small shops we looked in. We also found a pancake restaurant where we stopped and fuelled up, we all left there feeling horribly bloated and fat!!

20th December

Dan and I went into Bondi junction to buy Sarah’s Christmas present whilst Sarah went into town with cassia a Dutch girl who was also staying at the hostel. We spent most of the day in town wandering around and headed back to the hostel at around 5pm.

That evening Dan and I made our way into Sydney as we went to Donna and Steve’s house where we had a great evening with a few drinks and karaoke. After 7 years it seemed none of us had really changed much so it was really nice to catch up.

21st December

Today was our last full day in Australia so Dan went into town to get my Christmas gift while Sarah and I wandered down to the beach. It was a beautiful day so we had a walk along the beach and took some last photos before we left.

In the evening we went through all our stuff throwing away a number of clothes to make room for some of our new winter gear ready for Canada!

Our travels have gone by so quickly, its hard to believe we only have 2 months left till we get home, and only 3 weeks till we meet Dad in Canada!
