Day 271 - After a late night drinking and chatting (until about 2am), we had a slow start to the morning. We were woken up by the smell of a lovely cooked brekkie - something we hadn't had in ages. The boys then went off to look at golf stuff
whilst the girls went to the various clothes shops (surprise, surprise!). We met up for a drink and a very late lunch and stayed up again chatting till about 1am.
Day 272 - Ricky and Bill went to a nearby golf course to play a round whilst the girls..... went shopping! Unfortunately, the golf course was very busy (slow play to be more precise) so they only managed to play 9 holes. In the evening we were
taken out for a meal at the "Top of the Hub" restaurant which is located at the top (unsurprisingly) of the Prudential Building - the second tallest building in Boston. We were hoping to get good views of the city but unfortunately it was very cloudy so everything was rather obscured! The meal and the company was fantastic though.
Day 273 - Louise and Bill were off to a wedding so we had a typical Sunday. Ricky watched sport on TV and Lynne went shopping (again). In the evening we watched Juno on DVD.
Day 274 - Ricky and Bill finished off their remaining 9 holes at the golf course whilst Lynne and Louise went to watch "Sex and the City" at the cinema. In the evening we were cooked another lovely meal by our hosts and sat on the roof terrace
watching the sun go down.
Day 275 - Our one day of sightseeing. We caught the "T" (the tube) to the Prudential Center to join one of the "Duck Tours" - these tours take you round the city in a World War II amphibious landing vehicle. The tour guides all have crazy names (we had Captain Superswift or Captain Supersize as he now calls himself due to his rather round physique!) and provide lots of information whilst keeping you entertained with bad jokes! At one point in the tour you're taken into the river to see the city from another angle. It was great fun and a good way to see the city. It was an incredibly humid day so to cool down we went to the cinema and saw "WALL E" (very good film, definitely recommend it).
Day 276 - The final day of our trip. We're kind of pleased to be going home but are really going to miss Louise and Bill. It's been an amazing 9 months and we have no regrets. The experiences we've had and the things we've seen won't be forgotten. We've met some brilliant people (especially Gemma and Adam - our travel buddies!) and have loads of stories to tell. We have thousands of great photographs and lots of memories.
