Hello there!!
OK first of all, my email has packed up, both the kt-bob addresses are not working!! I have created a new email address and have sent you a message from that address so if you don't get it please contact me through travellers connected and i can send it on. (I think i have a virus and cannot access MSN either...).
I hope you are sitting comfortably as i now have a normal keyboard and fear this may be a long one!!!
Where do i start! OK, arrived late last Friday... Hostel as i said is really good, we are the only people there at the moment which is a good thing so we have the whole place, not to mention the hammocks, to ourselves! BRILLIANT!
To be honest, we are not thinking much of Venezuela/Isla Margarita... there is not much here to do in the evening and they are not really set up for tourism of ANY KIND! We spent nearly most of yesterday trying to find an ATM to get some cash out! But we did manage to go bowling where Lee kicked my ass twice, oh and had our first and final McDonalds - it is just too hard asking for anything else at the moment!
Highlights are most defiantly the hostel, which i am not sure you can call it that is it is like a little complex with a pool and an unlimited beer fridge and all you have to worry about there is whose turn it is to get out of the hammock and get the next beers in! Lee has bargain hunted, after his many journeys to the Supermarket (that seems to be the deal, he goes to the supermarket and i do the cooking!), some very very cheap cheap rose wine, think we worked out it to be about 75p a bottle and you know what, it is drinkable!! :-)
The beach is lovely, and we have spent most of today there and will be tomorrow also, but hoping (if we can find out how!!!) to leave for Angel Falls on Thursday, Friday the very latest.
There is not much thrill seeking going on at the moment, apart from Lee battling with a high undercurrent in the waves earlier!
He is extremely happy due to the fact that he has just found a bar that is showing the Champions League, i have left him there on the closest table to the TV where the owners have turned it round for him to have full view of it... Honestly, it was like the cat that got the cream when he spied the football on from a distance!!
We are really brushing up on our Spanish, i was even dreaming about it last night!!! It is very very apparent that we need to learn it and quick.. we spent last night with two bottles of the cheap cheap wine learning our phrases to get us by in the next few days.
Although there is not much to do and it is apparent that they don't really rely on tourism here - hence them not being really set up for thrill seekers such as ourselves -) (haha) the country itself is quite beautiful... we have mountains all around us to look at when we are sunbathing at our little complex so it is not all bad!
I think that is all for the memento.
Hasta luego amigos.
