Sawadee Ka....
Well after a bit of a cock up on my part of the times of our flights we have 5 hours to kill at the airport so i have time to write another journal entry (well there is nothing else to do!).
Had a lovely two days here in Bangkok, love the place, with two very contrasting days!
Yesterday was spent shopping in a daze as was so tired round the shopping malls and then we went out to dinner in the evening. This restaurant was AMAZING, we were on the 52nd floor of the hotel at the Saffron Thai Restaurant. We had fantastic views over looking Bangkok and spoiled ourselves with lobster and braised lamb, best meal we have had in ages. Then we ascended to the 61st floor which is a roof terrace over looking the whole of the City and drank vodka and brandy until the bar closed... Brilliant night and totally spoiled ourselves after sitting in and saving for so long!
After a good night sleep we got up today and went to the Kohsan Road... What a brilliant street! I have never been there before, but shopping here was better than the malls! We ended up getting loads of stuff and not spending that much, another bikini added to the collection :-D. Went to a night market tonight after another Thai meal - not so extravagant this time, but still nice, and milled around the markets until they closed.
Hotel is great inside, had a Thai massage today which clicked all the right bones! Location is not that great as we have had to get taxi's everywhere, but they are still cheap etc...
Wish we had more time here, but looking forward to getting to Aus. Now we have a 5 hour wait till the flight leaves and Lee is not best pleased with me, but hey, at least we are not going to miss it and we get good seats as probably the first to check in right!?? :-D.
