....or rather miles have been covered!!!
I will fill you in with the Argentina part of the trip and do the Brazil one separately!
OK, so i think the last one we were or had just left Salta in Argentina... (i have just typed all the below and the re-read the last entry and have repeated myself a bit... but i will leave it in as i seemed to have described it better than before!).
We arrived in Buenos Aires and checked into a hostel that was pretty cheap, well it had damp everywhere, but it turned out that there were some really cool people staying there... Now Lee and i don't really do the bonding thing with other hostelers but made an exception this time! No really, i think here was the first time that there were a few Brits - and that is not a bad thing, just easier to bond!!...
Buenos Aries is a really cool place, but you have to adjust your body clock as people here don't go out until past 11pm, and that is just to the restaurants, you don't even hit a club until 2.30am and they are still open at 7am - how anyone goes to work in this city is beyond me....
So anyway, we rocked up here and spent a week here in order to get the weekend in... the days were spent wondering around the city (which Lee described as similar to New York) and eating super panchos (hot dogs to you and me) which were a bargain 10p or something silly like that! So, that was breakfast and lunch sorted, we thought we would splash out for dinner... and oh we did! We have put on all the weight that we lost and some in about a week i think! The steaks here are incredible, i know i have said this in another post, but that was before BA.... they really do have the edge here on the size and taste of the steaks and i now know that i will never be able to give the stuff up!!
So, as i have just re-read the last post you will know that Lee went to the Boca game... we also went to the River Plate v Independiente game which was also good, they had to win to get a chance of being top of the league or winning a cup (sorry not great on details i am sure LV will come and change that bit later!) but drew 1-1... The fans again were really crazy and apparently someone got shot in the tunnel at the end of the game! But we cant find any concrete news evidence to confirm or deny that alligation....
After a lot of football watching (as of course there were UK games to watch also) we finally got out to a club... wasn't the greatest... but we went with some of the guys from the hostel (one of which was a psycho jealous girl, i am sure you can spot her in the picture below) and had a really good night. Lee`s dance moves are really something! Didn't get in until 6.30am The next day was very quite in the hostel and we actually got to sleep in past midday!! (which is extremely rare in hostel life).
So after a few more steaks and lots and lots of yummy red wine we hopped on a bus to go north the Iguassu Falls to spend a few days there before crossing into Brazil...
We arrived and checked in, hostel this time was better damp wise, but it was very cold where we were, we arrived at 10pm walked in on all the hostelers sitting round a massive table eating a meat feast BBQ all wrapped in scarves, gloves and big coats!!! But after I willed for the sun it came out on the third day and it was lovely and warm again. We visited the Falls and was taken aback by the sheer magnitude of them and just in wonder of the amount of waterfalls there were but by the end of it we were all waterfalled out, but it was a long day and about 100 photos and vid clips (pics to be added at a later date - Pop`s you are going to love these ones!!) were taken so you can see them in all their glory when we get back. We also decided at the end of it that if you did fall\jump into the bottom, there was no way you would survive....(!!!).
So that was our time out in Argentina.... Hop skip and jump on another but and Brazil here we come....
oh pants, i have just realised after all that i forgot the National Park we visited for 2 days!!! In brief we went to an ecological park and done a marsh tour by boat... saw lost of Camen and Capabarras (which look like giant guinni pigs). Saw a male deer close up just grazing and went horse riding. Very nice time there bus had to spend 4 hours on a very very very old bus on a very very very bumpy road to get in and out of the park! Had to be quick on that description as only have about 30 seconds before pc self destructs!
