Yesterday I did death road... cant entirly explian it and do it justice, you may have to look it up on the net. But I was so scared about doing it that on the bus ride up to where you get o the bikes I was threatening being sick with some of the stories that I have heard about it. Also must say that when I signed up for it I was told that it is "an extreme downhill challenge"... they never mentioned the bastard of an uphill 25 minutes... doesnt sound like much, but at altitude I can tell you that it is downright unpleasant.... although with the way that the downhill bounces you about on the dirt track that was painful too... Im aching all over today... and thats not just because Im weak cos everyone else who did it is too... felt like getting off at one point and throwing my bike at someone, or over the edge of the cliff face... instead I settled for swearing agressively when noone was around to hear! (sorry mum, but it really was painful... esp on the wrists, and didnt want to try and lean to far back incase it made me lose my balance! while im thinking of mum, I love how her advice for travelling alone is dont talk to any strangers.... might b alone alot if I go with that!)
Im off to Copacabanna tomorrow (bolivian, not brazilian) so that I can do the lake titicaca tour of the floating islands. excited as that means that in three days Ill be in Peru... all going to plan that is!
anyway, gonna have to go now, its getting late and I still havent had a siesta or a shower and I still need to pack my bags for tomorrow and we´re supposed to be going out tonight... hopefully it should be a biggy, but I woke up at 5 this morning... and like I say still no siesta.
