15 June 2007 - The Flight.

Well, my first journal entry of the year, this is very exciting.

So, as it is my first, I feel the first thing that needs to be addressed is where my might travels are taking me this year. I can tell you that those good old winds have this year blown (or flown…hmmm...) me west, specifically to the Americas. More specifically than that, I’m spending a long weekend in N.Y.C with my Mum and our friend before jetting down to Mexico and spending 6 weeks working my way down through Central America, before I fly back from Panama to N.Y.C and then on to London in 7 weeks time

As I write this, I’m sitting on a flight to New York, which is currently about 11,000 feet above New England. We’ve got about an hour to land, and my eyes are stinging like someone’s added a mixture of onions, pins and angry wasps to them, due to the total lack of sleep last night and mere 3 hours I’ve got on this flight. I could have had more but I got distracted by the very impressive music database on the BA Entertainment system (which even allowed me to introduce my Mum to the joys of Klaxons) Currently listening to a bit of Kraftwerk. It makes me feel German. Not always a good thing when flying into the States as, according to my immigration documents if I “between 1933 and 1945 were involved, in any way, in the persecutions associated with Nazi Germany or it’s Allies” I may have a problem getting in the country. Also, I should inform them if I’ve ever been involved in acts of terrorism, sabotage or genocide. Darn it, getting in to the States really IS harder than I thought.

I mock, but I am a bit worried about getting into the good old U.S of A with a Syrian visa in my passport (and a pretty recent one at that). Hopefully I won’t be held for too long, I’m going to go and do my make up soon so that I look at least half presentable to those lovely immigration officials.

Mmmm, I’ve eaten 3 meals on this flight… I didn’t steal my Mum’s food *awkward laughter*

Right, we’re about to start our descent so I better put this (beautiful) Mac away. I shall update YOU later….
