Evening to all.
So today has been my first full day in Slovenia, though in fact I don't think it can be called that as I didn't get up until 3pm... Thats how tired i was.
But when I did i managed to stagger up to the castle that over looks the (small- 300,00 people) city and the surrounding area. The aforementioned area is in turn surrounded by and Eastern branch of the Alps, which were stunning when silhouetted by the sunset (thats how late i there...) I have no idea why i always seem to kill my self by walking up hills when I'm away but oh well.
I slipped back down and then had a wander round the city taking lots of photos (especially of the old people which seem so numerous here, tehe.)
After an hour or sos rest i ventured out for some burek - a massive puff pastry pie, with lasagne type pasta and various filling inside, from The Nobel Burek shop, oh yes. Tasty.
And that was my day...
This seems to be my opinion of so many cities these days but I am rather fond of Ljubljana. It seems very laid back, and down to earth and its rather welcoming as well. The architecture is also beautiful, very Central
European- lots of red rooves...
Oh and theres and bank here called Hippo Bank, who feature hippos on all their posters and on heir ATMs they have a cartoon of a dancing hippo. I though you'd like that Mum. And Batticus, this is a city filled with roasted chestnuts, i would bring you some back but i don't think that would be practical...
