Time for a new entry methinks.
Yes, some of you know, and if you not you´ll realise now, that I´m still in Mexico- i was supposed to be in Belize on Friday. But I got to Tulum and ended up spending 4 nights instead of 1... Not that there´s anything much to do, apart from go to the beach...and drink beer. Haha. So yes, since we spoke last I travelled from Isla Mujures to the mainland, then into Cancun (got a bit lost), waiting hours for a bus, finally got one, some bastard tried to steal things from me when I was asleep but he wasn´t very sly (unlike a big fox) so he failed miserably.
So I got to Tulum, and kinda got stuck... There´s 3 parts to Tulum-the town which is basically one long streetwhich is where I´ve been staying, the beach which is about 5ks down the road and the ruins, which are about a 1k from the beach...well, actually they´re on big cliffs that over look the beach. So I did them on the first day
(in about a day) then spent the day on the beach (at one point having a sing along with a guitar, with a beer, while in a thatched beach bar, next to some parlms trees and the Carribean), and in the evening a few of us stocked up on beer and rum, went back to the beach, then found a beach club full of strangely dancing Mexican men, and at 3am when we got turfed out, we decided to go swimming... Never a good idea. So we run into the water, Baywatch style, but there´s loads of pretty jagged rocks we didn´t know about under the water, which i promptly trip on and bash my knee up good and proper. It was totally worth it though, a warm Carribean at 3am with the most stars I have ever seen in the a black sky above us.
It was a 5am bed time that night.
Next day was spent recovering, especially as I could hardly move my right leg, it´s fine now though.
Yesterday was a total beach day, which included some cocktails.Woooo. Then the evening included rubber ball bouncing, beers, mescal (sp?) and some brain tacos made by a one armed chef. I kid you not.
In essence then Tulum has been lots of swimming, sunbathing, beer drinking, card playing and thats about it really. OH and a bit of hammock swining for good measure.
Ok, time to go.,
