10 May 2008 - Another day in bangkok

9th May

Today we were going exploring on our own!! No tuk tuks, taxi's, help or dodgy advice from the locals!! We were walking!!

Despite being riped off the day before Dan and i both agreed that so far bangkok was our favorite city. I think its a mixture of great food vendors and lots of things to walk around and see. Most of all if you have a bit of spare cash the shopping is great!! So far Dan and i have been quite well contained, i think its a good job we don't have any room in our backpacks because we would fill them!!

We had a bit of a lie in and then headed out to explore on foot!! We had been advised to visit the MBK center whilst we were here. It is a huge shopping mall. It took us about 2hrs to get there, and as usual it was very hot!!

The shopping mall was huge, it has 7 floors and is crammed with every manner of shop. Unfortunately we couldn't buy anything so after 30Min's of walking round we were bored!!

So we headed back to the room, it was a long walk back!!

We also booked our bus tickets to Chang Mai which is northern Thailand for the 10th may. We had hoped to get the train but it is more money and you have to book it in advance. The bus goes at 6pm and is 12hrs so at least we wouldn't have to pay for accommodation that evening.
