25th June
Dan and i had our last morning on the island, we were both sad to go but ready to explore our next destination.
We got the boat back to the mainland at 12pm we were hoping we could get a bus cheaper on the mainland than the price they quoted on the island. Unfortunately the price was the same so we booked up for the following day.
We asked around for a guest house and found one, i was pretty dismal, the only redeeming feature was that it was cheap 20RM (3GBP).
The rest of the day we wondered on the beach before retiring to the room to discuss our future plans.
We came to the decision that we would be better off coming home in February instead of May. As it will be difficult to travel in Canada in the winter months and we do not have work permits and we don't have enough money to sustain us for 5 months. Instead we will come home and work until June then have 3 months in Canada before heading to New Zealand to work.
We read for the rest of the evening, instead of cooling down our room seemed to be getting hotter and the fan was almost no existent!! We decide to open the windows although we knew the mosquito's would come in and this room had no nets or anywhere for us to hang ours up.
In the end i had to have a cold shower before i got to sleep....it was like being back on the 4000 islands!!
26th June
We had the worst nights sleep, i finally gave up at 6am as i had mosquito's buzzing round me. By 7am i woke Dan up and told him i had to get up. The mosquito's had even attacked my face, i looked like i had two big eggs on my forehead and a big lump on my chin!! Dan's arm looked like a dot to dot page, after 30Min's we were out of there in search for breakfast.
At 10.30 we got on a mini bus and made our way to the Cameron highlands. We were looking forward to a change of scene and some nice long walks.
We arrived at fathers guest house at about 4pm, the journey had been ok and thankfully not to many bends!! We booked in and made ourselves at home. The guest house was set on the top of a hill so had beautiful views of the hills and surrounding village, also nearby was a really pretty convent. The climate here was also a refreshing change...like being in england on a sunny summers day!
