9th December
This morning Dan and I went into the centre of Bondi (called Bondi junction) to the RTA (road transport association) to find out what we needed to do to sell the van. After spending some time in the RTA we decided what course of action we would take and to start off we made our way up the street too the nearest garage too get the van booked in for a safety inspection check. We managed to get her booked in for first thing in the morning which was great as we really didn’t have any time to loose.
We walked back to the hostel and on the way bought some cleaning products as we wanted to get the van cleaned and looking respectable for the safety check the morning. Dan and I weren’t impressed to find out tat we were not allowed to wash the van there so we had to drive into the city to find a garage with a car wash.
We found one with out too many problems and after paying $14 we went through the car wash, what a waste of time and money!! Although it had washed a few areas we had to hand wash her anyway just to get her looking clean, we spent a good hour doing this before we headed back into Bondi.
Next job was cleaning the inside of the van and getting rid of any other of our things, this kept us busy well into the early evening, but it was great to know it had been done. We also had some interest from a German couple who walked by, they seemed fairly interested and said they would contact us at around 2pm the following day for a possible test drive.
Bed time was welcomed after dinner, Dan and I had had a busy day with the van and had more to do first thing.
