15th November
We awoke and had breakfast the flies joined us again but thankfully not as many as the night before. By 10.30 we had arrived at Scenic world in the blue mountains. Scenic world is situated where there used to be a coal mine, there are also 3 rock formations called the three sisters, the aboriginals believe that they were three beautiful sisters that were turned to stone so they couldn’t run away with 3 men from another tribe.
Due to the old mine on site they have the steepest railway in the world with a 52 degree incline, this was first made by the miners, they still use the same tracks today , but with a new train. The ride itself is almost like a fairground ride as its so steep, it felt like you were going to come out of your seat!! There was also a cable car that took you back to the top of the mountain after walking round a rainforest board walk from the miners train. Lastly they had a sky way, another cable car that took you across the canyon past a huge waterfall to a lookout over the 3 sisters.
We spent at least 4 hours here before we set of south for a town called Goulburn, we had looked in a guide book for caravan parks as we hadn’t had a shower in too many days. We arrived to the caravan park at about 6pm and set up camp, they had a camp kitchen on site so it was nice to sit indoor for the evening with out having to worry about, flies, mosquitoes, the wind or the rain!!
