16th November
Breakfast was enjoyed in the camp kitchen this morning, we took our time as we had to wait for the washing to dry, it was rather over cast so I the end we had to tumble dry the last few bits as check out was at 10am. We drove into goulburn centre and found a free parking area, we then walked around the town looking at the old buildings and architecture, the sun finally came out and we all enjoyed the wander.
We all needed to go on the internet so were pleased to find one that also had wireless internet, I have been having problems trying to upload the journals as they either don’t have usb ports or I haven’t been able to access my saved journals.
Food shopping was next on the agenda then petrol, after that we were ready to drive on to Canberra. We were there within a few hours, according to our guide there was a free rest area in a small village called hall just north of the city so we headed there and set up camp for the night.
17th November
After breakfast we went into Canberra to the information centre to work out what we were going to do today. After an hour looking at all the different options we decided to go to the national museum and the war memorial.
We got to the museum and were astounded and very grateful to find that it was free, you certainly wouldn’t ever get that in England!! We ended up spending the whole day in the museum, by the end our brains were worn out from information over load!!!
As we had spent the whole day at the museum we decided we would stay the night at the same place and come back in the morning to visit the war memorial, on the way back we stopped in the centre of the city to look around. Canberra does seem to be a small city, not too busy and from what we have seen very clean.
