Oh yeah, should probably include some of the cultural experiences I've been having out here as well! Harriet and Bill decided a few weeks back that every Sunday we should all go out for the day so I can see some of what Durban has to offer in terms of the tourist itniery. Last weekend they took me to a Zulu culture ground which showed the huts or Rondevals as they're called that they live in out in the sticks. Also saw a lot of traditional Zulu clothing and weapons etc. By an incredible stroke of luck there was a casino on site, so we went there and had lunch and I gambled a few Rand. And lost. This weekend we went to a game reserve called Tala which was amazing-think i'll let the photo's do the talking though for this one.. The plan is to see the Draconsburg Mountains and a Marine park called Ushaka in the coming weeks.
That’s about all for now-just want to get one last thing off my chest. Am deeply distressed at a word I seemed to have picked up. Instead of saying yeah they say ya out here in a way similar to an upper class snob would back home-it’s not perceived that way out here of course but I seem to have found myself adopting it without knowing it which makes me sound like an utter berk. Must stamp this out of my brain before coming back as it will leave me with no friends but just wanted to warn you now in case I slip up when I'm back in Blighty.
Missing you all-can't believe how quickly my time out here is going-only have 2 1/2 weeks left... is gonna be an emotional departure methinks
xx
p.s. have just put up some more pics
