30 November 2008 - The great ocean road

26th November

We packed the van up, finished our laundry and hit the road again….today’s destination…..The Great Ocean Road!!

The first township we came to was Torquay so we went to the information centre to see what we could do here and places to stay.

After lunch we parked up and went for a walk along the each and cliff tops, this is a popular surf location so we watched the surfers for a while. So far the weather today had been good, although we were pleased to have our jumpers as it was windy.

We headed back to the van and continued to head west, our next stop was bells beach, where the last scene in point break was filmed. The beach was isolated bar a few people, we didn’t go down there but admired it from the cliff top, time was getting on and it was a bout time to think about where we would stay tonight!

Continuing west we came to Anglesea, we enquired at a few caravan parks but they were all ridiculously expensive so we looked for a free spot. Thankfully we passed a big parking area near the river mouth, it was a way off the road and had toilets so we decided that was our spot!
