17 May 2008 - India

Well this would be my first online journal so bare with me folks. I traveled to India in January 2008, we landed in Hyderabad spent the night then had a 4 hour drive to a small village called Chillakalu It was a neat little place. The group we went with set us up with accomodations with an orphanage. The compund also had a sewing program to help widows get back on their feet. The poverty around the area was truly shocking. I mainly worked on cement water filters & helped install to places around the village. Since it was a group that we went with there wasn't much time to "do my own thing" but it definatly was an interesting place. The one thing I wouldn't forget was probably the way they drive. I guess, Chicken run would be the best way to describe it heh.
