After the fiasco of the non existent Salsa dancing we decided to get out of Buenos Aires on election day last Sunday. We decided to got to Uruguay for lunch! It is just a hop across the river on the high speed ferry and I couldnīt resist the thought of another couple of stamps in my jumbo passport!!
We visited a place called Colonia which was a lovely old sleepy town. We had lunch, sat on the harbour, took a stroll and climbed a lighthouse and then came back to Buenos Aires - a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours!
Marianne left for home the next morning and I got on a plane to Salvador to seek a bit of sun, sea and solitude for my last week in order to prepare myself for the big return. I did intend to finish off my CV in preparation for the uneviable task of starting job hunting again but I was so rushed off my feet lying by the pool reading a book a day that I didnīt quite get round to it!!
Anyway I am homeward bound very shortly and will be making an appearance at Ealing on Friday night - all you salseros had better be ready for me!!!
