12th September
After a great nights sleep and a tasty egg and bacon sandwich we said goodbye to Becky and Dave and drove down to Southport. We arrived at Aquarius backpackers and got settled into our room. Although we weren’t starting work until the morning both Dan and I had a go at driving the mini bus as we would be driving it in the next few day.
It was nice to have space to cook a good meal in a well equipped kitchen, and a fridge to put our food in. The hostel also has big comfy sofas and over 400 films to watch, so we were looking forward to slobbing out in comfort rather than being squashed up in the back of the van.
13th September
Today Dan and I started work, I did the 7am shift and Dan started at 3pm. The day went well, there is a lot to learn but as the hostel is quiet at the moment we have got time to take it all in. We both went for run on own and Dan managed to do a bit more than me but we still did at least 6km, not bad for our first one I a while. Both Dan and I have put on a few extra pounds so we are looking forward to shifting them.
I cooked us some dinner and had an early night, while Dan didn’t finish until 12pm.
