just got back there from a 5 week trip to south india to a place called Tamil NAdu. went there to help out with the boxing day disaster.
i went with an organisations called LDWP which is an organisation which helps out in the developing worlds in places such as india, uganda, sri lanka, kenya, and ghana.
during my stay i helped to knock down and build 11 houses. we even got to pain and help move in the new proud owners.
also during my stay i helped out with the teaching of all the schools and some of the hospital clinic round about. i also played alot with the kids near where i stayed which was fun. it was a very hard experience i must say as the heat was at the worst point. we had to stop-p alot of times as the heat was so bad. it was also bad to think of all the people that you were tring to help that were suffering form aids etc. it was a pretty emotional time for me.
during my stay in Tamil Nadu aswell as work my socks off i also did a bit of site seeing to places like Maduri. i saw alot of temples and the huge change of culture was amazing. to think that cows could just walk down a busy road was amazing to watch . where i was health and safety was not an issue as everyone went everywhere. if there was a space someone was bound to get in it. there were no seatbelts imn the cars etc and people jost kept jumping in and out of vehicles while still is motion. things like that. it was crazy. one thing that bothered me wa the amount of suncream and mosi. repelant that i had to put on. it was like a had to bath in them lol and at that it hardly works as as soon as you got outdoors they would hit you. i have scars to prove them haha. for anyone out there who reads this and wishes to go to india feel free to go to this place. its amazing and totally worth it.
if you have just left school (17 onwards) and wish to see the organisation that i was on feel free again to visit the site.
