I have now been in Rarotonga for nearly 3 weeks and have loved every second of it. But as the end draws near, I am looking forward to getting home again.
Over the last week my mum joined me here and has been keeping me quite busy. We have been out snokelling the reef a few times, exploring the Island and watching the local events. The Vaka Eva (outrigging canoe races) started on Friday and many people from home are here to compete. Two paddlers from my town have won places in the individual events and tomorrow team Xylo will compete in the hope of getting a medal. The crew looks strong and I would bet money that they will place in the top 3.
I also got my tattoo done by "Stormy" and Pacific Ink. And she did an awesome job. Although, she kept telling me to keep it out of the sun and salt water. It took me less than 24hours and I was back into both!
So this morning I dropped mum off at church ( I wasn't in the mood) and have come to town to check on my return flights. I was going to do alittle shopping but that will have to wait till tomorrow as everything is closed on Sunday- much like mackay!
Won't be long now and I will be back at work and this holiday will just be a distant memory
