11th September
We got up early went to harbour, it was only 7.15am but already there was a group forming. We took our shoes off and waded into the water up to our knees, there were 3 dolphins there but we weren’t allowed to touch them as they are wild. At 8am they gave us some information about the pod, we were then allowed to feed one of them two fishes per person. We all really enjoyed it, although we hadn’t touched them it had still been a wonderful experience.
We went back to the cabin and had showers and breakfast before heading down to Brisbane. We arrived around 1pm after navigating our way through the city to find the backpackers hostel. We said our goodbyes to john and Rachel, this is probably the last time we will see them now as they are off to new Zealand soon. We had a great week with them and hope that we can meet up with them when we get home sometime.
We were due to arrive at Becky and Dave’s that afternoon so all we had to do was get the right route out of the city, this turned out to be a bit of a nightmare and was very stressful. As I’ve said before the road signs here are poor so we ended up turning round a few times. We finally made it at 2.30pm, we were hungry as we hadn’t had any lunch so we stopped off for a sarnie just before going to their house.
We had a lovely evening, Becky cooked us dinner and Dave gave us some great tips on places to see. We were also able to upload some pictures on the internet and get a few emails sent before going to bed.
