4 June 2008 - back in bangkokand off to Ranong

26th May

We got the local bus back to bangkok, we are loving the local transport as its been saving us a fair bit of money, with just a small amount of extra effort!

We got dropped off at the main bus terminal so had to get another bus to get to the khao san road. We headed straight to the star dome inn where we stayed last time, much to our dismay they were full so we headed off down the road in search for a new place. We eventually found a small, air con room for 350 baht so we were happy!!

27th May

We checked out the hotel at 11am and left our backpacks in the lock up as we weren't leaving till 7pm. We had decided to go to a place called ranong, just on the southern Burmese boarder, here we planned to re-new our visa's as they only had a week left on them.

We spent the day on the internet and wandering round. At 6.30pm we got our backpacks and headed to the bus stop. The tourist information had given us the number of the bus we needed to get to he southern bus terminal, we had decided to get there ourselves and save money. We got on the bus and luckily the ticket man came round and asked where we were going. I told him and he just sort of shook his head and walked off, i was puzzled and thought he was cross because i didn't speak Thai. A few minuets later he told us to get off the bus and pointed to another bus, we had gotten on the wrong one!!

Finally we made it to the bus terminal and managed to buy the tickets and find the bus without any further issues! The bus we got was just as nice as a VIP you would get through a travel company so we feeling pleased with ourselves.

After 9hrs and not a lot of sleep we arrived in Ranong, luckily the guest house was right next to the bus station so all we had to do was wait for it to open.
