7th June
Dan and i payed our bill and enjoyed our last breakfast looking over the beautiful Mae Nam beach. I was feeling quite sad to leave here as we'd had a few really nice days. Still in the same notion both Dan and i wanted to get moving on as we have been in Thailand for over 5 weeks now so we are feeling ready to explore a new country!
We decided to get a ticket for the boat at the pier as we though maybe it would be cheaper by doing it ourselves. unfortunately it seemed we wouldn't be saving much so we decided to get a joint boat and bus ticket that would get us back on the mainland and get us to Krabi.
The next boat wasn't for another 3 hours so we had to sit around reading, it also gave us time to get some bread rolls for lunch.
After an hour or so we arrived at the port, we we're taken to a bus station about an hour away and had to wait another hour before our bus left for Krabi. I wasn't best impressed to see it was a mini van taking us, but hey what can you do?
The journey was a little rough as the suspension was no existent and the driver didn't slow down for any bump or pot hole in the road! It was worth it to see a gorgeous sunset, the best I've seen yet, the sky was a mixture of pinks, purple and blues. It was made even better by the silhouettes of the limestone rocks dotted along the coast, unfortunately i didn't get a picture!
We arrived at Krabi by 8pm and was greeted by a few men offering rooms at their guest house. One of them was only 250 Baht for a room with en-suit, hot water, a fan, fridge and t.v, it sounded too good to be true!! We got there and the room was lovely, a decent size as well!
It was great to be able to go to the 7-11 and buy yogurts and drinks that we could have whenever we felt like it!! They also let us have some hot water for free so we were able to have a cup of coffee in the room!! It sounds so trivial but when you have to go out all the time just to get a drink its a real treat to have one in the comfort of your own room!!
