15 December 2008 - Back to melbourne with some great hosts!!

1st December

Today we drove back towards Melbourne, it was probably near on 11am by the time we left as we had decided to get some washing done as we would be flying to Alice springs the following day. We also had some free internet access to use up so we wanted to make the most of that too!!

We spent most of the day driving as it was quite a way back, we had arranged to meet up with Dads friend from school for some supper. We thought that we would arrive early but in the end it took much longer than anticipated. This was probably due to navigating the city with a very basic map that didn’t even have road names……as you can imagine it was somewhat of a nightmare, but amazingly we managed it with out too many de-tours!!

We finally arrived at Neal and Sandra’s house at 6.30pm, they welcomed us in and we had a good chat and a cuppa!! They also made us supper which was greatly appreciated, two of Neal and Sandra’s children who are a similar age as us also came over for a chat. They were all very friendly and we had a great evening with them, they also invited us to stay the night so that made life much easier as we would have had a long drive to the nearest rest stop.

By 10pm we started packing our things ready for the morning as we had to leave at 6am to get to Melbourne airport ready for our flight to Alice Springs.
