4th February
First thing this morning I contacted Corina, we met her in Surfers Paradise when we were working in the hostel. Corina had just flown back home to Vancouver the previous day and we were hoping to catch up with her before we fly home ourselves.
We had set a time and place so once we had finished breakfast and packed our lunch we were set to go. It had worked out well as Dan and I had already planned to go to Granville Island and Corina lives close by to there so we were able to fit both in.
We walked across the bridge to the island (although it is more of a peninsular than an island) and looked at some of the quaint shops before meeting Corina. It was great to see her and catch up on the goings on since we had last seen each other.
After a coffee and cake in star bucks we said goodbye to Corina, it was quite sad really as it made us realise that all the people we had met throughout our travels were getting back to their day to day lives and that we may never see them again.
The rest of the day we wandered around the shops and actually bought a few bits and pieces ready for returning home in the next few days.
That evening we went to BI 914 a restaurant that had been recommended to me by an old colleague, it was our last night in Vancouver so we wanted to make it special, for that matter it was the last night of our entire trip!
The restaurant was lovely, it was all tapas so the dishes were small but very flavoursome. We certainly pushed the boat out (especially for us!!!) and really enjoyed the evening. We spent a lot of time looking over the places we had been and the friends we had met along the way!
It was time to start looking forward and planning what lies ahead for us, so the way home gave us a chance to ponder over what we need to do in order to make a start!
