20th July
Today we had our first dive here on the Perhentians and it was great!! The visibility here is amazing as well as the marine life. We saw lots of different things including blue spotted rays, bat fish, puffer fish, Titan trigger fish and bump head parrot fish.
We didn't know whether to do our advanced open water course whilst on the island as it allows you to dive deeper and improves your general control whilst diving. In the end we decided against it as it would cost us 130GBP each. Although this is a cheap price, this would last Dan and i almost a weeks worth of living out here.
The dive school informed us we could do an adventure dive, this means it can go toward your advanced course whenever you decided to do it. It also means you are qualified to dive up to 30 meters instead of the 18 meters from your open water course.
By doing the adventure dive it saved us a lot of money but it means when we go to Borneo and oz we will be able to dive at deeper depths, so we will have more chance to see different marine life like sharks!
After our dives we treated ourselves to a snickers milkshake and spent the afternoon enjoying our books!
