We arrived in Oz, bought our bus tickets and headed straight to our hostel. The hostels here are not cheap, and although our hostel was very up to date with it's decor, the huge TV and the large internet room, the walls really were very thin. We stayed in the first hostel for 3 nights and then decided to move, as the bathrooms on a Saturday and Sunday morning were not too pleasant a thing to walk into. The next hostel we stayed in was alot better, very clean and the guys on the front desk were great. We spent the week looking for an apartment to rent as we have decided to hang around in Brisbane for a few months and try and get some money up together.
Brisbane is an amazing city, it has everything to offer, shopping, eating, drinking, partying, gardens - it's just crazy. We got lucky on a room in an apartment, i think it was Garry's sweet talking, but we now have a room in a 2 bed apartment, sharing with a girl from New Zealand who lives here now, and it is smack bang next to the city, it's a 10min walk and you are in the centre. We have a huge balcony that overlooks the parklands which are just beautiful, we have views of the city which is amazing at night, a gym, swimming pool, spa, steam room, and a restaurant/coffee shop right downstairs - I can't believe our luck - and the best thing is, it works out cheaper than staying in a dorm room -CRAZY! It's our own little central park.
Natasha, who we live with is great, really easygoing and lovely.
We went to watch Mamma Mia at the weekend (couldn't convince Garry to come - suprisingly), took a boat ride down the river, had some eats in a Tappas Bar, and a bottle of wine, and before I knew it we ended up in a bar with live music drinking more wine and dancing the night away - FANTASTIC!
