22 May 2008 - Winter is upon us...

but i still don't need a coat during the day 8-).

G'folks, yet another month has passed and i cant believe that we have now been away for over 6 months. That is the longest i have ever spent away from home - ever.

How are we doing? We are fine, Lee copes with the homesick better than i do, i dare say i am a bit more vocal and dramatic than he is! :-). Lee is still still looking for someone to take him on as an apprentice, but with the new tax year coming up (for us) it seems that people will start taking on. He should start a pre-apprenticeship course in July which will bump him up the ladder a bit. But he is still at the factory - i take my hat off to him, i couldn't do it. But he is painting there this week so it makes a change from the factory floor.

I am doing well at work, getting stuck in setting up all their HR stuff. Keeping me busy and i am actually enjoying it... god how weird is that to say out loud! I still don't know about my future at this company as i am only on a six month contract, but we will see what happens.

As for friends, well, we actually haven't got any! haha, there are some good girls at work that i can have a gossip with, but outside work it is just me and Vallance. We are optimistic though, but the main thing is we are not sick to death of each other yet, so that must be something!?

It is winter here at the moment, but it is so nice during the day! It drops to about 1 or 2 in the evening but the days are about 13 to 16…. I can get used to this!!

We have recently brought a Van that we are going to do weekend road trips in… it is a people carrier and seats 8! We don’t know 8 people! LOL. But the seats at the back fold down and turns in to a bed, we have an electric sunroof so we can lie down and stare at the stars at night and has a really good sound system and air-con throughout! All for a bargain of $1750. The first test is in June when we are going to go to the great ocean road and do some whale watching. I will have to pack my thermals at it is going to be cold at night!

Lee likes to visit the van in the evening (it is parked in the garage), I think it is when I am annoying him and he needs some space -), I think it is the equivalent of a garden shed to him! Suits me, I can watch Eastenders in peace! (we are up to the bit where Claire has just turned up – did she play Claire in Hollyoakes? I miss Hollyoakes!).

We still miss everyone but are enjoying ourselves too. Just wish we could have you all out here.

We are to visiting my distant family this weekend, Pauline and Ross (Nan Ivy’s brothers family), we have spoke on the phone a few times and they sound lovely.

Kev joins us next week, Thursday I think!?

Hope you are all enjoying the photos when we put them up. I know a few of you enjoyed the Kelly Jones on on Facebook! I still am a little obsessed :-D.

I think i haven't missed anything out, i better go as am at work at the moment... oooo also off to the gym tonight, joined again, second time lucky eh?! -)
