29 March 2008 - V Festival

Yeah Yeah Yeah!!!!

Beer o clock started at 11am!!!

Mauro turned up 1st then Damo closely followed by Matty and finally Brian. We got a taxi to Centennial Park which as anybody who's been to Sydney will know is a nightmare on a Saturday lunchtime!!! Coopers was the beer of the festival and their lager was ok. No queuing to get in this was a bonus as 1st up was Robyn and she was already on when we got there. About halfway through Robyn i left the gang and went to catch Hot Hot Heat. They were definitely my highlight of the day!!! They played a real loud set! I was right in the mosh pit and got some great pics of them. I stayed on to watch Modest mouse who were excellent as well and they had 2 drummers playing that was well impressive! After they finished i went to find beer and the gang both were done very easily, as there were loads of beer tents and Steve was wearing a t shirt that resembled Dennis the Menaces but with green instead of red!! I watched Roisin Murphy with them she was very cool and not as chilled as i thought she may have been, also she weren't wearing a bra!! Next up was Air they were well cool but their set was a little too chilled for the type of day i was having after starting with Hot Hot Heat!! Then i left the gang and went to find Dave and Michelle and watch Queens of the Stone Age, was a right mission to find them but got there in the end and Queens were excellent that was a mentally loud set!!! I left there about 10 Min's before they finished so i could catch some of Duran Duran who it turned out had been late getting on stage, so i caught most of their set. Simon Le Bon was very cool and played the crowd very well! After their encore we went and caught The Presets, a very cool group from Sydney, that was excellent a nice bit of slammin dance music to finish a day i will never forget!!!! We all met up in the Fringe Bar afterwards and had a few drinks in there and a dance. We then moved on to some place that i cant remember the name of but the barmaids ended up on the bar singing and dancing like a scene from the film Coyote Ugly!! When i got home after going on the hunt for food Donna was in bed and me and Steve sat there for nearly 2 hours singing to videos on you tube, how classy!!!
