22 September 2008 - a job and a reunion

3rd September

After a great night sleep we said good bye to Becky and drove back down to Southport. We met up with Jo the manager of Aquarius and after a brief chat arranged a rough start date. Initially Jo had said that it would be around 3 weeks before we could start, this would mean having to travel further south then come back up so we wouldn’t be wasting time in Southport. As it happened Andy a staff member had just moved his leaving date forward so we could start the job in a week’s time. This worked out well as it would give us time to go up the coast again and spend a few days on Fraser Island.

After leaving the hostel we booked ourselves into a caravan park for the night and got ready to go and meet john and Rachel. We had originally met the couple in The Cameron highlands in Malaysia and then we met up with them again in Borneo so Dan and I were looking forward to catching up with them.

We met them at their hostel and walked into town to find somewhere to eat. We had a great night and had plenty to talk about. We arranged to met up with them the following evening, after saying goodnight Dan and I walked the 2km back to the van and settled down for the night.
