We got to the dive centre at 8am, we had to fill in medical forms before we started, we were a bit worried as they said Dan would have to visit a Dr (due to his epilepsy) to get signed off to say he was ok to dive. And so the saga began! We were told we could start our educational part of the course and that Dan could see the Dr in the afternoon before we headed to the pool to do the practical part off the lesson.
At 12pm they told us the Dr wasn't able to see Dan so he had to see his assistant today then go back tomorrow. We enjoyed the practical stuff in the pool, we finished at around 6.30pm. We went to get some food and spent the evening writing post cards and reading.
We arrived at the dive centre at 7am as the Dr had said he would see Dan then. Surprise surprise he said it wasn't possible to go then and that Dan should go back at lunch time. So we headed up stairs to watch the DVD and finish our knowledge reviews.
At 11.30am Dan headed off to the Dr, he signed him off up to 10 meters (the deepest you go on the course is 18meters) He said when Dan finished the course he has to go back again to get signed off completely, what a to do!!
When Dan was in the Dr's he bumped into Joe an oz guy we met in dak lak. he was there as he had an ear infection. They arranged to meet up later that eve for dinner.
We ended up eating a nice meal and having one to many drinks, we headed home about 10.30pm as we had our first ocean dive in the morning.
The next day we headed to the boat and had our 2 dives, we both really enjoyed it. I felt pretty ill on the way back, by the time i got on the bus i was ready to throw up, luckily i was sat by the window was managed to stick my head out, luckily there was no mopeds coming by at the time!!!
The rest of the day was spent in bed, we had arranged with our dive instructor to have the next day off for me to recover.
So Thursday we went back to the dive school, and did our second dive. It was a beautiful day, the sun was out and the sea was calm. we had a lovely dive and saw a moray eel, lion fish, scorpion fish and many others. We meet 3 English people, Kate, Paul and Ben they invited us out for drinks that eve.
7.30pm we met up with them, my tummy was still a bit ropey so we only stayed out for a few before heading back to get an early night ready for our last two dives in the morning. we were also headed off to hoi an the next eve so also needed to pack our stuff up.
7am we were on the bus headed to the harbor. Again i felt pretty bad but tried to ignore it. We were just about to go for our first dive when i came over really sick. I decided to give the first dive a miss and see how i felt before the next one. I spent the next 30 mins feeling really rough before throwing up a number of times. Altho i felt better having been sick i stayed on the boat for the rest of the trip leaving Dan to complete the last dive on his own. I was really disappointed as i had paid for the dives and also missed out on the extra tuition, but i could not be helped.
That evening we boarded our sleeper bus and headed to hoi an.
