8 December 2008 - a lazy day in lorne

28th November

After breakfast we drove back into lorne, we were there by 9.30 as we had planned on going surfing. AS it turned out there was no surf at all so we didn’t rent a board, instead we wandered along the front in search of a cuppa!! As we walked down into the town I spotted some more koalas in the trees, we couldn’t believe our luck, that was 3 in two days some Australians we have met have only seen 3 in a lifetime!

After a lazy morning enjoying coffees and cakes we on drove to Apollo bay, here we did the same by looking around the town, lunch was enjoyed perched on the back of the van absorbing the sun whilst it lasted!!

Again we drove north to find a free place to camp, we ended up driving a painful 20km on a gravel road before finally reaching our grassy spot. Although it was a nice spot this time we had to share it with 3 other groups and the toilets here were more than grim!!

Supper was a very tasty fried rice with vegies, unfortunately it did start to rain, we just hoped that sarah wouldn’t get too many leaks in the tent!!
