11 July 2008 - Kuala Lumpur

2nd July

Our bus was leaving at 10.30am so we went to our favorite restaurant for one last sitting.

The bus journey was ok it took 6 1/2hrs in all as the guy was driving slowly due to blowing a tyre the previous day. I was defiantly grateful as part of the trip was trough the mountains.

We arrived in Kuala Lumpur (KL) at 4pm. We hadn't decided where to stay but Edward a dutch guy we had met on the perhentians was also on our bus and had a business card for a guest house in china town. As it turned out it was clean and not too over priced.

That evening we had a walk round the city and Edward showed us the petronas towers. I have to say they were pretty amazing and at night certainly looked beautiful illuminating the sky.

By the time we got back to the oasis guest house we were exhausted, we had walked round for almost 3hrs now so were in need of a good nights sleep.

3rd July

After a good nights sleep we used the facilities in the guest house to have breakfast, it was only toast and coffee but it was so nice not to have to search for some where to eat, sometimes this can see, like a real chore!

We decided to go and look for an underwater case for Dans camera as we would like to take pictures when we dive in Borneo.

After an hour or so we had no luck and it started to rain quite heavily in the end we headed back to the hotel. Ice age 2 (a movie) was on so we spent the afternoon watching that.

That evening we headed to some of the up market shopping malls and we found the case Dan was looking for. Unfortunately it was 140GBP so we decided to give it a miss, instead Dan tried on numerous expensive watches before heading back to china town.
