Shame I have such a stupid expression in this photo, but look at the size of the beetle on me! This was at World of Insects, Monteverde. I have holes in my t-shirt from the hooks on its feet... The road to Manzanillo You can see why surfing is the big attraction. This is the famous Salsa Brava shot from Beach Break.
(p.S. These are not my shots, just place holders until I get my external hard drive back) Sunset at Playa del Coco, Pacific coast. Punta de Uva beach, near Puerto Viejo, Caribbean coast.
A bubbling volcanic mud spring in Rincon de la Vieja national park. The enormous (2nd largest in the world) crater of Volcan Poas, some 1.5km across, with a lake in its centre. An incredible view once the clouds cleared after 30 minutes of waiting. One of the other people doing the Monteverde canopy tour. You can see just how high up the zip lines were, the last of the 16 was 600 metres long and 90 metres above the forest floor. A sloth near Volcan Poas. Such cool creatures. This was a 3-toed sloth. This is the other reason to visit Costa Rica: Mount Arenal, one of the few active Volcanoes in this hemisphere. This is a rare shot as the mountain is usually covered in mist. At night when it is clear and the volcano is spewing, it is a wonderful show of nature's fireworks.
