The road to Manzanillo

Punta de Uva beach, near Puerto Viejo, Caribbean coast. A sloth near Volcan Poas. Such cool creatures. This was a 3-toed sloth. Puerto Viejo This is the other reason to visit Costa Rica: Mount Arenal, one of the few active Volcanoes in this hemisphere. This is a rare shot as the mountain is usually covered in mist. At night when it is clear and the volcano is spewing, it is a wonderful show of nature's fireworks. An iguana we spotted during a trip up the Sarapiqui river.
An extremely cold swim in the San Ramon waterfalls, Monteverde. So cold it was quite painful, in fact. Had to be done though. Sunset at Playa del Coco, Pacific coast. The enormous (2nd largest in the world) crater of Volcan Poas, some 1.5km across, with a lake in its centre. An incredible view once the clouds cleared after 30 minutes of waiting. You can see why surfing is the big attraction. This is the famous Salsa Brava shot from Beach Break. (p.S. These are not my shots, just place holders until I get my external hard drive back) A bubbling volcanic mud spring in Rincon de la Vieja national park.
